Our History

E. Beryl MacMillan’s started in 1976. For 45 years, the court reporting services have evolved with technology, but the highest quality has been maintained.

Beryl started the business with a few reporters, some who are still working today. The office’s reputation of having top quality transcripts and friendly atmosphere quickly rose. That reputation is still upheld today.

In 1999, Beryl’s would move from Westcourt Place to the Security Building on Pelissier. The Security Building became home for the office for 20 years. In 2002, Beryl retired and Sharon Masse took over as the owner. It was here that reporters would transition from recording on tapes to digital transcription. Video conferencing was just beginning, allowing services to be offered around the world.

In 2020, video conferencing became the wave of the future. A big move to the old Riverside Town Hall on Lauzon marked the beginning of a virtual age. Today with so many restrictions in place, reporters now do all examinations through video conferencing. It has been the greatest learning curve that the business has seen so far.
